Ontario’s already-strained public health-care system had to cope with dozens of military wartime casualties needing treatment for severe burns, amputations, and other traumatic injuries.

The chilling scenario unfolded from November 6 to 8, 2024, as part of a National Defence preparedness event called Exercise Trillium Cura, the largest joint civilian-military health-care exercise of its kind.
