Co-Chair |
- Advocate for SPEC within the larger CIMVHR body.
- Participate in regular communication with CIMVHR staff regarding SPEC activities. Be the main point of contact between CIMVHR and SPEC.
- In collaboration with SPEC Executive develop and execute yearly communication and strategic plans for the SPEC.
- Oversee regular operations of SPEC (e.g., chair meetings, draft agendas, etc.).
- Co-Chairs will be asked to continue in an ex-officio capacity for one year following their two-year term.

Events Lead - Forum |
- Organize events that coincide with the annual CIMVHR forum (e.g., social, and professional/academic development events) in collaboration with the remainder of SPEC and the CIMVHR Forum Planning Committee.

Event Lead – Professional Development |
- Organize professional development opportunities (e.g., workshops, lunch and learns, etc.) using feedback from participants of SPEC.
- Work in collaboration with committee to identify various workshops/seminars/lunch networking events and incorporate suggestions/feedback provided by participants of other SPEC/CIMVHR events.

Networking Lead |
- Identify universities where student and post-doctoral research is being conducted in the areas of military, Veteran, PSP, and family research.
- Facilitate networking and engagement between trainees as well as seasoned researchers interested in engaging with students and postdoctoral fellows.
- Engage in outreach with students, postdoctoral fellows, and seasoned researchers to increase the visibility of SPEC with students and postdoctoral research fellows.
- Lead the creation of a marketing and recruitment plan on an annual basis to set measurable goals and recruitment targets, as well as strategies to implement to achieve these goals.

Communications Lead |
- Build a strong social media presence using CIMVHR platforms (through the CIMVHR Communications Coordinator) to advertise events offered through SPEC.
- Develop suggested social content for CIMVHR Communications Coordinator to post.
- Take minutes at SPEC meetings and ensure all action items are recorded and completed by the specified deadlines.
- Work with CIMVHR to ensure all communication fits within the communications calendar and CIMVHR standards (e.g., translation, development of a SPEC logo, etc.).

- Assist with SPEC duties and activities as required.
