Dr. Vianne Timmons

President and Vice-Chancellor, University of Regina

Dr. Vianne Timmons, who has been President of the University of Regina since 2008, is a nationally and internationally recognized expert in the inclusive education of persons with disabilities.

She maintains an active research program which over the years has included projects such as:

  • improving the educational environment for children with disabilities in India; and
  • exploring connections between inclusive education and children’s health.

Dr. Timmons has strong family connections to the Canadian military. Her father, Jack, trained as a pilot with the Royal Canadian Air Force in the early 1950s, and her husband, Stuart, spent more than 20 years with the Canadian Forces.
