Mr. Michael Brennan
Chief Executive Officer, Canadian Physiotherapy Association
Michael Brennan is the Chief Executive Officer of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association, representing over 12,400 physiotherapists and physiotherapist assistants across Canada. Mr. Brennan brings more than 20 years of experience in association management and health policy expertise to the leadership of Canada’s largest rehabilitation science association.
Other current duties include chair of the organizing committee for the 2013 International Symposium on Rehabilitation Human Resources, chair of the National Physiotherapy Advisory Group, chair of the G7 health lobby group (physiotherapists, pharmacists, psychologists, social workers, audiologists, occupational therapists & dieticians), and member of the Board of Directors of the Canadian Institute of Military and Veterans Health Research (CIMVHR).
Mr. Brennan holds a Masters degree in Economics from the University of Ottawa. He previously served as Executive Director of the Canadian Dental Assistants Association, Executive Director of the Canadian Technology Human Resources Board, and Director of Standards and Accreditation for the Canadian Council of Technicians and Technologists.
He has published several articles on the subjects of social capital and responsible lobbying. He lives in Ottawa with his wife and two children.
